Red Bean, China Barley, and Huai Shan (Chinese yam) soup is a traditional Chinese medicinal soup made with red beans, China barley seed, and Huai Shan. This soup can help clear heat, promote diuresis, nourish the spleen and kidneys, and invigorate the spleen and stomach.


  • 100g Red beans
  • 50g China Barley
  • 50g Huai Shan (Chinese yam)
  • Some rock sugar
  • Some water

Preparing Instructions:

  1. Rinse the red beans, China barley, and Huai Shan separately and set aside.
  2. Put the red beans in a pot, add enough water to cover, and bring to a boil. Remove the foam, then add the China barley and Huai Shan, and bring to a boil again.
  3. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for about 30 minutes, until the red beans, China barley, and Huai Shan are all soft.
  4. Add some rock sugar to taste, and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Please do note that this soup has a diuretic effect and may cause frequent urination. Therefore, it is not recommended to drink it before bedtime to avoid affecting sleep.

  1. 将红豆、薏米、淮山分别清洗干净,备用。
  2. 将红豆放入锅中,加入足够的水,煮沸后撇去浮沫,再加入薏米和淮山,继续煮沸。
  3. 将火调小,盖上锅盖,煮30分钟左右,直到红豆、薏米和淮山都熟烂为止。
  4. 加入适量的冰糖调味,再煮5分钟即可。
